Orchard
Beyond
is a small orchard of old-fashioned apples, set in squares of grass mowed
into varying lenghts, sprinkled with snowdrops, primroses and fritillaries.
The Paved Garden leads under an arcade of wrought iron, clad in pears
and clematis, between a line of large pampas grass, with on one side,
raised beds for species bulbs, especially tullip, crocus and iris. A medlar
tree is at the end of this vista, the focus point in front of a beech
hedge. Beyond are vegetables and a bonfire/ compost area.
